Does anyone know if there will be a new Freq for calloway county sheriff's office since they are getting a new Voting Receiver repeater? it may be to soon for anyone to know
Thanks.. brandon
This would all depend on what type of radio system the county has and how the radio techs plan on linking it back to the dispatch center. A voting receiver repeater comes in three basic formats:
- RF Links: from remote site to base.
- Leased landline connection to relay signals.
- Microwave relay.
In examine the county's current radio system, I see that they do use RF Links to connect remove receivers into a voting system. This is most economically advantageous route for more rural counties to pursue that do not have a lot of monetary capital to pursue a microwave relay system. Conversely, this is better method than using leased landlines from the telephone company.
If the remote RF link method is indeed the way they plan on going with this new voting system, this would mean that several UHF radio links would be placed throughout the county to help boost handheld and mobile radio coverage. In fact, if you live near any of the remote sites, you can actually hear hear the mobile and portable radios talking into the system off 465.325 MHz, which is the input frequency to the repeater.
