They said they get their supply Direct from manufacturer. But, I know how that can be.

In short, something is not adding up here. I don't doubt what you say, but something is wrong somewhere.

I can't recall the exact thread, or when, but somewhere in the past year (or sooner), wasn't there someone that purchased a "new" scanner, but got one that appeared to be one that was returned by someone who sent back an older scanner in place of the "new" one they purchased? The purchaser (here on the forums) received the bogus 'new-not used' return. Anyone else remember that or the details?
