They said they get their supply Direct from manufacturer. But, I know how that can be.

And that is unfortunate. However, as I said above, something doesn't add up.

Their prices are not all that great either.

I assumed it was new the plastic on the face plate looked like what I saw on a couple youtubes? Yeah, price was no bargain.

It does appear they are selling new inventory, but that does not mean someone didn't purchase one from them and returned an older one only for that to be sold to you. At the very least I would contact them to see what they say.

I guess, about all I can go on is the appearance and function. It sure looked new out of the box and all knobs and buttons seem to have that tight new feel to them. I'm for sure going to have to think on this.

I can't recall the exact thread, or when, but somewhere in the past year (or sooner), wasn't there someone that purchased a "new" scanner, but got one that appeared to be one that was returned by someone who sent back an older scanner in place of the "new" one they purchased? The purchaser (here on the forums) received the bogus 'new-not used' return. Anyone else remember that or the details?

Sold as new or "like new"? Even the fact that it is a three year old date code is suspect.

Also was this Amazon direct or a third party?

In short, something is not adding up here. I don't doubt what you say, but something is wrong somewhere.

Does the SN on the box match the scanner?

I'll check both serial numbers and see what I come up with.
