BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Can I use "HAM" antennas for a BCD436HP?

I currently have a Baofeng UV-5r HAM radio and connect it to both antennas below. With the proper adapters/connectors, will the 436HP get the same reception as a "scanner" antenna or is it best to get one specific to scanners? They pretty much seem the same at 144/430MHz range.

Only difference (scanner) is no TX.

Just remember, adapters are not your friend.
Adapters put added stress on the antenna connector, and they add a small amount of additional loss.
The antennas you listed are going to be tuned for the ham bands, and may not perform as well as an antenna tuned for the public safety part of the band. But, yeah, it's not going to hurt anything, as long as the additional adapters don't damage the antenna jack.
