Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8350i/4.6.1.294 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/126)

They would not be using GMRS with a 2200H it is a VHF radio. LAD 1, LAD 2, LAD 3 are common trucking channels in BC, and in Yukon mostly used for chatting

I find it hard to believe they are using amateur freq.'s. At some point someone would want to chat with his buddy when in town and they would be heard. They are a big enough operation to hire responsible radio techs or companies which would go through the licensing process along with audits, etc.

Yup, they are either 2100H's or 2200H's. I doubt they are on ham freqs. I have seen quite a few volunteer FD's that use Vertex VX-150's for fireground radios too.. They are cheap.. Bottom line..

Gonna have to confirm that for ya - watching the 6/27 episode right now & a lot of radio shots for a second or two. Some guys have commercial ICOM mic's with the strain-relief on the plug, but I've seen quite a number of shots that I'm damn sure are the HM-133 mics (and they don't use those on the commercial rigs).

The other give-away for the 2100 or 2200 is the channel knob - commercial ICOM rigs use up/down buttons on the face instead.

Defintely not the AMBE 2020 codec at all... There is NO characteristic ASYNCH sound (D-Star amateurs call it R2D2 sound). I vote for straight analogue audio for certain!

Saw a Yaesu ft2900 in the escort truck this past weekend. So if they're not using them for HAM radio then they're using them for......

Watched sundays new show and while they were bump pushing, they showed the radios a cb on 19 and just above was a display on the other radio of 160.12

I noticed they show MORE CB on CH 19 now and avoid shots of the other radios. I wonder if they got some flak about it? I still see ICOM hand mics like the one in my car. lol

I also saw 160.12.
I was wondering the same about them not showing the "commercial" radios this season. The only other thought is the producer (who seems to bee an idiot this year imo) has different objectives.

Look at the bright side- if you are a Ham you get a 2m radio to use, at least when in town lol.

I saw the 160.120 as well tonight... Love the DVR. It looks like 160.125 is licensed to Carlile from the FCC database... Think someone was on the wrong channel or were trying to "cover up" the actual frequency, or ??? Just seems interesting that the Radio was so close to their licensed freq...

160.120 is the frequency I talk with my girlfriend Lisa on. PLEASE don't monitor our private conversations, in which she tells me how much she misses me & goes into great detail about what she wants to do with/to me when she gets home.

I would speculate they have them in memory only mode and ran out of characters for the alpha display.

Now that the frequencies have probably been identified properly, how are they being used? Are there remote bases up north so they can call the company? I just discovered this show this summer and find it very interesting. Not that I do it, but ICT sure beats all the game and reality show junk the networks are showing.
