Carteret Co VIPER reception

Usually while in Carteret County I have great reception of the viper system. Now while in Emerald Isle and Cape Carteret area, I am getting barely anything from most of the sites and not seeing Kuhns at all. I also noticed the Newport is now only showing the Onslow site as adjacent sites.

Is anyone else having these issues or is a site off-line or control channels changed from what’s in the database? Thanks for the help in advance.

Who are you trying to listen to? Carteret only uses VIPER as a back up. The Newport site is weird. I'm not able to connect to it until I cross the county line. In Havelock, my usually connects to the Bayboro or New Bern sites. Also the New Bern site doesn't show Newport as a neighboring site.

Must have either been the storm or a site was having issue. I was getting 1 bar or less and -112db and today back to full bars and -85 db

If it helps Bayboro neighbors are Bath, Chocowinity, Laurel Rd, New Bern, Ponzer, Rose Bay and Stacy

Chocowinity neighbors are: Bath, Bayboro, Greenville, Kinston, New Bern, and Williamston

New Berns neighbors are: Bath, Bayboro, Chocowinity, Comfort, Jacksonville, Kinston, Kuhn's PE, and Laurel Rd

I don't have any records for Newport. I didn't drive there back in March when I was confirming sites.

FYI, after I posted this, I have went through all my records and added neighbor sites to all the site's I have records from visiting in the last several months for VIPER. It makes it easier for everyone to be able to find this out without having to read the data on the controllers themselves.

Are you just missing Newport? If thats it, ill try and ride down and get what you need.

I didn't have time in the day to get Newport when I went to most of the sites in Bath, New Bern etc. I would like to confirm the information that the controller puts out. Mainly the controller freq, alt control freq, NAC, and the neighbors site information along with their controller freq that's listed. (I like to see those myself to make sure no new sites get built that are not known, and it also confirms the neighbor sites controller freqs haven't changed). I use PRO96com to display and collect the data but others on here use other means I dont specifically know about.

I was at my place a couple weeks back and tried for the first time and could only hear mostly old analog frequencies being used. I could hear carteret so but nothing on the island but analog frequencies

About 2-3 months ago when I was in Chocowinity, I reviewed the VIPER site and noticed the controller frequencies were changed. So I made the changes to the database for that specific site. Not sure if that would impact anything where you are trying to receive. But I was able to easily copy and verify the New Bern site from Chocowinity while I was still there in town. The main Uniden database was updated the following Monday with my changes. I didn't make it to Newport so I don't have their neighbors information nor have I verified it.
