Hi to all.

Has anyone had issues receiving any or all of MOSWIN sites/TG's etc over the last couple of days in the SW portion of the state? I am monitoring from Laclede/Dallas County area and my sds100 is pretty much dead. I can hear some local departments however, what I usually hear is pretty much nonexistant. It appears many of the sites I get reception from are not coming in nearly as strong, if at all.

I am leaning to my outside antenna finally giving way to old age or some atmospheric thing going on. If I manually set my scanner on a specific TG and hold on it I can get occasional reception, but not much better. While in scan node I am only receiving local stuff.

My example of what I can't hear now vs before.

Any Troop D traffic, at all
No troop A, F or G traffic
I am receiving some Troop I
I normally receive some or all of these.

Thanks in advance.

Can you list specific sites you normally monitor that you don't hear now?

Springfield here. I listen regularly to:

Springfield 800 simulcast
Springfield 700
Fair Grove
Hurley
And sometimes Cassville.

I haven't noticed a significant difference lately other than to say there is one specific frequency on Hurley that always gives me problems. Fair Grove has always been problematic for me which is odd. This is all with an indoor discone so I don't expect much outside of that range.

Hope this helps.

Short answer...I have 18 sites programmed. Think Bennett Spring out in a circle. I normally, without issue, receive around 6 sites. The farthest away are Fair Grove, Wheatland and the new Conway. It is not uncommon for me to hear another 6 as far away as Mansfield, Bendavis and Cole Camp.

All day long, when I am down here, it is usually non stop Troop D. This trip, nothing. And I did not come prepared on this trip as I would usually have a mag mount for my car to use and compare signals. So I can't do that this trip.

Might be a while before I come back. I need to make sure I come prepared next time to do some more testing.

I may?? Have found my problem. I went step by step in my programming and everything looked normal. Then I checked the initial screen you get when you hit the menu button. I checked the Select Service Types and found that Law Dispatch had been turned off. 😳 Why, I have no clue. I have not even used the scanner down this way since our last trip and it was working perfectly then. I do switch back and forth with favorites lists between the Bennett Spring area and home. But I don't remember ever turning that setting off. I have way to many police channels programmed. Anyway, my sds100 is blaring away on MOSWIN police activity now. I tell ya...too many buttons and settings on these new scanners.

I use software to program mine... switching between ARC and ProScan and I sometimes forget to check the box to turn on that FL. So then I have to do it manually. I do like the flexibility that Uniden, Butel and ProScan offer though... so I can't complain too much.

I'm glad your issue has been resolved!
