For those who have one, which case for the SDS100 did you choose, the nylon, hard leather, or soft leather? Thanks.

I bought the hard leather one from Scannermaster. Feels very rugged and built like a tank!
Only criticism is that it's a tight fit and can be difficult to take the scanner out of the case (which I seldom do). Not a big issue for me but if you like to take your scanner out of the case often, it's something to consider.

I got the Scanner master hard leather case a couple weeks ago. So far I’m quite happy with it. As Nasby said, it is a snug fit.

Those of you with the ScannerMaster Hard Leather Case ... Do you notice the SDS100 getting overly heated?

Definitely the hard leather case. Like a football uniform for your scanner. Built thick and sturdy, a serious shock-absorbent case that is worth the money to protect your expensive SDS100 scanner.

I have the hard leather for my 436, I like the nylon for the SDS. It has holes punched in it for cooling and if you have the belt clip disc on the radio there's plenty of room for the vent in the back of the radio to breathe.
Always bought leather. But tried the nylon for my 436 then the 100. Glad I did.

I’ve had it sitting on my desk running in the case for several hours at a time and haven’t noticed the SDS100 getting much warmer than out of the case. It does have a series of 5 1/4” holes down each side of the case for air flow.

IIRC, there were previous posts warning about being careful how you press on the radio to remove it from tight fitting cases. The concern wan possibly breaking the battery latch.

Yes I had heard the same thing and it goes for the nylon case also that you should not use the hole on the bottom of the case and push up.
The method that I use to remove the radio from the nylon case which I don't think can be used on the hard leather case is to squeeze the sides of the case at the bottom and the radio slides right up and out.
Just a note for everybody I made additional modifications to the nylon case. I took a square of Gorilla Tape the exact size of the bottom of the case and applied it, this stabilizes the case when it's sitting on the table top making it less likely to fall over. I also took an exacto knife and cut the clear plastic window out of the case, and yes, I understand I am no longer protecting the display but I can see it with these bad eyes of mine without all that rumpled reflection from the ill-fitting clear plastic encasement.
Another note is although the nylon case has the holes on the side and if you leave the belt clip disc on there is plenty of room exposing the vent on the back of the radio, I make it a habit of only using the case when I go portable with it which I don't do very often anymore as I have another radio I use for portable application.
Whether it be leather or nylon a case is a must for this radio. I can't imagine what it would be like if an uncased radio met head-on with the sidewalk.
