I've got to agree with that. I've been warning people for years that our clear ProVoice nets weren't secure for confidential information (social security numbers, building entry codes, etc). If I can learn how to plug in a scanner with a cable in to DSD on my laptop inside of 5 minutes, Joe Cool out there can figure out how to do it inside of 2-3 hours, for sure. And that's been true for a while. Hopefully that message will be heard a little more strongly now.

Not that I am by any means an advocate of encrypting everything so all government traffic is out of the prying public eye. Openness has its place. However, there is also a place for COMSEC. ProVoice does not fit into that place.

I've received several database submissions for Cecil, and since the database isn't taking these talkgroups properly, I've added them to the Wiki. When the database is updated, they can be transferred there.

I've attached 2 hpe files one is All I have thus far, the other is what I consider Confirmed and has been submitted to the RR DB. (I hope I did the hpe files correctly).

It Should at least accept the patch TG's; They all have a good AFS# & a DEC ID.

Nope - my fault not yours... I was scanning a bunch of stuff too quickly instead of reading. The TGIDs and RIDs are pretty close in ranges and it all blended together.

I think I had too much caffeine today

Got it working today, Built a new system using Sentinel and loaded it up. Did not decode at first, but I changed a few options on audio decoding and the audio started to come in. Using the discovery mode now to gather talkgroups.

Picking up 2 flaggers on a crew directing traffic on a project somewhere on TG 8578 using these RID's 11250 & 11228.
I think they're fixing potholes.

Had a new TG hit this morning on 8579. This one's new since the summation yesterday..

I see the RR DB page was updated today.. That's great!
Perhaps it just hasn't come to the top of the pile yet; but..
The patch talkgroups outta be up there as well.

They are used by all the agencies for interops between the local agencies; and when interops are needed with adjacent counties. They are assigned on a per incident basis as needed and can have EMS, FIRE, POLICE, ECT... at any time..

Perhaps there are actual names for these but Patch seemed most appropriate.

Those are referred to as System Assigned ID (SAID). When 2 or more talkgroups are patched an EDACS system assigns a new ID for the patched TGs.
