Correct. Cecil DES dispatches every agency in the county except MSP. CCSO and EPD have their own talkgroups and assigned dispatchers while the remaining three PDs share a talkgroup and dispatcher referred to as "towns".

Cecil only has 3 other active town Police Depts besides Elkton..
Northeast PD
Rising Sun PD
Perryville PD
Port Deposit PD folded a short while back and Chesapeake City contracts with Cecil Sheriff Dept on mostly evening hours so may hear different callsigns for those guys.

Earlier this evening heard coms in town of Rising Sun with 9701 mobile with CCPD dispatch 809
Possible Rising Sun is 9701-9711,A few PD vehicles and mostly handhelds.

Could be right. Except that I've seen RID 9706 on the Elkton PD TG 4745 as well. But it may have been a fluke... The log sometimes spits out garbage data or an error in decoding.. Or maybe all the PD's have each others channels in their radios for interops?

Anyone in the know feel like sharing?

Thanks for sharing the info. :)

Rgr saw 9706 again tonight on Elkton PD to Elkton officer in Elkton.
Guess a radio that needs re-programming.

RS Police checking in for duty just after 6pm 9701 on CC Dispatch 809.

10505 doing transport to CC detention Ctr on CC 809 with beginning mileage.
Forgot about the County Det Ctr.. Are they on the CC system as CC Sheriff Dept runs the place.

Detention Center may be on now but as of a few years ago they used their own analog repeater. UHF IIRC.

1026 ? (AFS ID 08-002)

And also updated & added to The Digital RID's Wiki Page.

Cecil County (MD) Radio and Unit ID's

:)

Add 9712 heard tonight with PD Rising Sun officer on location on a Rising Sun address.
8513 officer working address in Port Deposit.. Sounds like contract CCSD with 809 Disptach.
Pencil in 8503,8513 series as Port Deposit CCSD deputies.

More fiddling with BCD436 and Cecil County.. I seemed to be missing various Tac groups Law
and Fire after originally loading with ARC software..
So copied data in scanner using Sentinel software to computer and went to Edit Profile and checked Monitor Full database box then went to Service types and checked various Fire/Law Tac groups and resaved file to the 436HP.
Now am getting active MSP Northeast Barracks (4746) and various EMS Fire/Tac groups.
Much better..Huge difference..ARC software is great for adding systems but factory Sentinel software is better for fine tuning radio.

That is most likely due to the fact that they were not submitted when you first loaded the system.
They have been added since.

No they were all in there as had same problem with older Delaware 800 trunk system as well.
Just seems the Sentinel software opens up talk groups and patches with editing better than ARC.
Now all systems working much better..Worked for me anyhow..

I wonder what is different though?
I generally use Sentinel to program, Except to add a system that's not in the Sentinel DB.
Otherwise I just use it for the PC (Virtual) Control* and the Logging feature* is always on.
(*available in the ARC536PRO Version)

I always have all the system types enabled; therefore never had the problem you encountered. Only time I turn them off is when I'm traveling using GPS. Otherwise I'm just scanning my FL's for the most part.

Strange Talkgroup ID

Trying to figure out why I would decode a talkgroup ID of 00-021? Unit ID's where Elkton PD Dispatch 807 and another 9051.
Thanks

Believe these are patches that come and go that are set up by dispatchers to allow different users to talk without changing talkgroups/channels on their radios.

As I understand it, when two or more talkgroups are patched together, you'll no longer hear them on their usual talkgroup ID until the patch is taken down.

In addition to what troymail said..

Not a mystery; your TG display settings are defaulted to AFS for EDACS.
You were hearing Patch 17 (AFS 00-021) DEC 17. If you change your setting to DEC it will be TG 17 As on the RR DB Page. Also see the wiki page for more...

Correct, these are properly called System Assigned ID'S (SAID) and are the result of console patches.

Thanks guys. Made the change. This scanner is so different than any others I own. Pro 2006 with opto scan 456 board and a pro 2096. The learning curve has been steep. LOL

4739 Info

Listened to the scanner tonight and it sounds to me like all of the radio traffic was referring to traffic stops, i.e. "no-seat belt" as well as other typical traffic stop info. This was all on 4739 about 21:45

With the sudden usage of these "tac" talk groups. One has to wonder if encryption is the next step. I'm sure by now they know that we can now monitor them.
