Does anyone know if the Chattanooga/Hamilton County Government is looking at going to the 900 side? Or am I just picking up "bleedover"!

Re:

Nope, no 900Mhz public safety stuff around here. What you are hearing are "images" from the actual frequencies in the 856-861Mhz range. Without getting too technical, an "image" is a byproduct of some radio receivers that "repeat" what they hear into another higher range of frequencies. Some radios are more prone to producing images, or false signals. I used a Radio Shack Pro-2096 for a while and found it produced many images in the 800Mhz range and was one of severeal reasons why I sent it back. (Pathetic VHF-hi and VHF air band performance too) The Unidens I have used don't do this. Hope this helps!
