Curious as to why the Alpha Tags for the Fire/EMS TGs were changed in the database to be prepended with "CC", if anything I would have expected them to be updated to match the format that is used by the county in the radio fleetmap (W_FIRE, W_OPS1, W_EMS, etc.)

No idea, but looking at it, it’s probably to depict “Chester County”. So when dumped into a receiver with multiple systems, it’s easier to see tbat it’s “Chester “ and not say Berks or Delco etc.

I know with the older versions of software in the unications, I had to do just that to depict which talk group went with the system. Now that’s obviously
not the case with the newer firmware and PPS , but what’s logical at a glance.

I never keep the RR alpha tags as they aren’t always the same as what’s in the subscriber radios anyway and change them to match, but that’s just me.

That’s what I do as well, it makes it easier for the fire/EMS personal who aren’t as radio or scanner app savvy to be able to find the TG they want to listen to also.

I spent a day going through a subscriber radio and making a replicated version of scan lists in sentinel for the SDS200 that made it work as similar as possible. The old head fire police whacker guys loved it.

My home 20 eating pizza.
That’s why I prefer to program everything myself. That CC isn’t needed. I just name the Favorite List “Chesco”, “Montco”, “Delco”….. and would just name the TG East Fire, Central Fire, East Ops One, Central Ops Two….. Much easier on my eyes to find that way and not be repetitive.
