I don't know if this was answered, but what was CFD on before OEMC trunking? If they were in VHF or UHF why would they go to 7/800 and back to UHF?
They were on 470. But kept having interference from some out of state tv stations. Idea of 800 was to be a temporary fix while 460 got built out.

CFD left VHF for UHF in 2012. I remember there were some issues with unauthorized transmissions on their old system so they moved the MDC to the front of the transmissions. Maybe they were other reasons prompting going to UHF T Band P25 too like having all public safety in the same band.

Then they went to 800 mhz trunked in the last few years because they were getting T-Band interference.

Has CFD went back to UHF? There is more traffic than usual on CFD N and S UHF P25.

As far as what you heard today, companies were heading to O’Hare for the disaster drill, and possibly were trying to find the ORD 800 Zone in the radio and landed on the old Zone. All CFD traffic was on and will remain on the 800 trunking system. This thread could be closed to avoid confusion if an administrator sees fit.
