They have Harris consoles, not Motorola

CTA radio techs testing again (TG 7101)
According to them, they haven't decided on a radio system (They said they are looking at a bunch of options for radio systems, all it takes is money) They were complaining about internal politics (There are conflicts on whether to stay with what they've always done, FMN, vs a digital system, or the OEMC system) Some want the CTA to build its own digital system, but the radio techs think thats a bad idea due to band congestion and the work it takes to maintain lots of towers. (the people that want a digital system on UHF probably due to P25 800Mhz procurement costs)
Apparently CTA has a receive antenna on a bank building in Evanston, thats supposed to be one of the tallest buildings between Chicago to Milwaukee (when it was built).
they say they'll be testing in the north suburbs next week

Might want to click the report button and have it moved to the other thread.

More testing today. I didn't listen live yesterday, but when playing back audio from OpenMHz, I heard several instances where indoor reception was poor.

If an issue arises, they're using FD Event-1 on the FD 800.
Yep, I noticed that. As someone else pointed out, they're comparing the reception between 460 and 800 MHz. When 460 didn't work, they'd switch over to FD Event-1 on the 800 MHz OEMC system.

I'm noticing many problems on FD 460 Englewood (460.625). I'm by Midway and also seeing encrypted DMR coming in (2-3 bars) under the P25 symbol at times. CC-10 is showing on my side. Anyone else seeing this?

I haven't noticed anything like that, but between the 5 freqs tested so far, Fire Englewood definitely had the worst reception from where I'm at.

I thought the reception issue I was hearing was only on my end, but obviously not.

I wasn't monitoring the 460 frequencies today, but heard a few tests on FD Event 1 that were reported as "loud and clear". Any updates?
EMS and Fire Main sounded good for the most part. But, EMS and Fire Englewood, as well as Citywide sounded pretty bad.
