CHP programming issue...396xt???

Hello all, i am having trouble programming the Calif Highway patrol into my 396xt. i have found the listings in Radio Reference and tried to copy and paste them into a 'site' and program into my scanner, but to no avail. i am using ARC XT PRO with my scanner. RR does not seem to have a way to import the frequencies into ARC XT PRO to auto fill/program the cells like i was able to do with the rest of the programming. the areas for Calif HighwayPatrol im trying to program are Ventura county and San Luis Obispo county. any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Trying to listen to CHP (39 and 42 mhz) with an 800 mhz antenna wouldn't be an upgrade, it would be a downgrade. You need an antenna designed for lower frequencies to receive the CHP generally.

I agree with JoeyC, badhabit0793. 800 mhz antennas don't do well with low band. Try it with the stock duck and see if you hear anything. My Diamond antenna that I mentioned earlier does well for me with CHP.

A VHF low band antenna would do the trick, or even a CB antenna, base or mobile.
