I heard this last night, but was too tired to post. It happened just before 9 pm in Shingle Springs. I don't know what lead up to this, but the Placerville PD was involved somehow.
I heard a CHP unit behind someone and he hadn't lit him up yet (maybe he was wanted?).
When he did, the suspect took off and a pursuit ensued. He called for air support and the El Dorado County Sheriff Dept was also involved wanting a spike strip. After pursuing him for some time around the residential area, several units caught up with him maybe at his residence? An initial report of shots fired went out, but was later ammended to the suspect being tasered. Didn't really hear much more after that. I wonder if that was a first for the CHP as they just got the taser units last week.

What's the appropriate command while in pursuit with a taser?

Halt or I'lll zot you?

Halt or I'll light you up like a Christmas tree?

Halt or you're gonna dance like a 3 legged elephant in a mud slide?

Norm.

There have been CHP units that have been equipped with Tasers for a long time, it's just a major roll out of Tasers as standard issue.

The State is having layoffs and a some hiring freezes, with a big purchase in times of financial budget crunch, you have to put a positive spin on thinigs.

We had a call yesterday where 6 Chippies and a motor unit had also responded to. They all had the new X26 Tasers.
