Here is my updated setup for my 2012 Chrysler 200. I am the Communications Unit Leader for the Local search and rescue team, and I am also part of a statewide SAR/Disaster Incident Management Team. When not dealing with SAR, I work as an Emergency Comm. Specialist/EMT for a local public safety agency. On the drivers side is a TYT 9800 quad band hooked up to a Comet CA-2x4SR NMO, and on the passenger side is a Kenwood TM281 hooked up to a Tram VHF NMO. The TYT is programmed with all of the mutual aid frequencies in various bands, as well as UHF repeaters statewide. The Kenwood holds statewide ARES VHF repeaters.

What is the brand, model #, and frequency range of the antenna on the trunk? God Bless You for using permanent NMO mounts. I despise magnetic-based antenna mounts!

Which antenna? The Comet is from their "Search and Rescue" line and it is wideband coverage from 136-470Mhz (Although it works well on aircraft also). I am uncertain of the model number for the Tram VHF however it is pre tuned for 144-150Mhz.

Thats a damn good antenna. Well worth the $60ish price tag, especially now that they put out a spring version.

Covers Ham, commercial and PS in 140-175, 220, 440-512, receives 700 and 800 well.

It is kind of obnoxious for a taller vehicle, although mines on the roof of my truck now that it has a spring... had to reinforce the sheet metal under it though.

The new sedans at work have this antenna on the trunk center on the scanners. Works 155, 168 and 800 very well.

I have had my fair share of antennas and it is by far the BEST antenna I have ever had. Well worth the money I paid for it. The repeaters I can hit is outrageous. During skip conditions I can easily hit repeaters 110 miles or more away. During non skip I frequently hit repeaters that are 45 miles or more away. The reception on public safety bands is remarkable also
