On September 15Th, 2010 The Coatesville Fire Department along with an Engine from Modena and the Rescue from the Thorndale Fire Company was dispatched for an apartment fire.
Ladder 43, Engine 41-2, Ambulance 41-1 and Assistant 41 (Paulukinas) all made the response shortly after dispatch and were advised of a fire in the ceiling.
Ladder 43 arrived to find nothing showing from the exterior and their crew went inside to investigate the situation. Engine 41-2 laid a 5 inch supply line from a nearby hydrant and deployed an 1 3/4 hand line to extinguish the fire.
Assistant 41 arrived and established the "8Th Ave Command" Interior crews reported fire in the ceiling of three rooms of the apartment. Crews quickly extinguish the fire and started salvage and overhaul operations.
8Th Ave command placed the fire under control requesting a phone call from the Chester County Fire Marshals and Peco to the scene. Assistant 41 Paulukinas made the City fire units available a short time later while also terminating the command.
