To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Top-level drag and drop (if that even works with 2.0). You’ll likely have to fix a few errors, but that’s probably the fastest way.
You need to have two instances of 2.0 open at the same time. Read each radio with in each instance of CPS 2.0. On the one you want to copy from right click on "configuration"and select copy. Then do to the other one and right click on "configuration" and paste to that radio. You may have some errors come up at the bottom left, just sort those out one at a time and you'll be good to go. One radio may have features the other doesn't so just take your time and work thru any errors one at a time and it will work for you.

For some reason it's been hit and miss for us. I've had some copy over but some you had to on and re-populate the scan list again. I can't comment as to the RX lists, the radios I've done for people and others that use 2.0 for our area don't use RX lists, the radios are mainly used for one TG at a time and at that, usually simplex. Being hams, we don't usually need too much fancy stuff LOL.
Frankly getting the contacts in there, the frequencies in there and other info over needing to start a new blank plug, to me, it's worth the trade off to just add the scan list back in if it needs done.
You will have to tell it to go ahead when it tells you the radio isn't the same and such but just tell it to go ahead and it's honestly saved some of us hours of programming between two different model number of radios.
I just did one from a 4550 to a 6550 VHF and it did not transfer to the scan lists. Everything was there on the left side to move it over but it just didn't populate the actual scanning list. I had two errors pertaining to capacity plus and corrected those in the "from" plug and then redid it and it was fine. All frequencies, contacts, and such transferred over fine. Compared to hand editing the changes I made in the original radio to copy it over, it was much much less time than having to do it by hand in the HT.
I think it was moving a plug from a XPR 4580 to a 5580 that it actually did take the scan list but I honestly don't remember. (or maybe visa versa) ??
Anyway valid question about the scan lists. Thanks for mentioning it.
