When I search using my 97 for PL/DPL tones When I get to the hospital paging freq it send me like 5 different tones anyone know why???

maybe each tone makes different pages exclusive for different groups, areas, departments, etc.

makes it to where the hospital doesn't have to register separate frequencies. instead, just use one frequency with different tones

Paging systems don't normally use PL - the decoder may be falsing on the paging tones.

Hi AL42 and readers,

PL tones are subaudable (out of band), pager tones are audible (in band). They are mostly digital but plainly audible, some older systems use DTMF or single tones. Like the man said, falsing is possible because some tone frequencies (higher PL tones and lower pager tones) may overlap.
