Does anyone know if Colfax LE or Fire units carry another radio to monitor nearby agencies and NMSP?

I'm guessing they have nearby agencies (i.e. on VHF conventional) programmed into their DMR radios, but obviously they can't scan anything outside of the dmr system.

If anything the way it's gone most aren't programming anything in anymore beyond their local towns and county and the VHF Interops on the conventional end of things or anything beyond their own systems. Ive seen most not bother monitoring state anymore besides what's local to them and their entity and straight back to how it use to be where they'd use dispatch to relay by phone what state is up to outside their local deal. Seems to be the going route anymore and backwards in places with politics playing major part in the conventional hold outs. How it is here unfortunately where I am. If they aren't using the multi mode multi band vp 8000s then probably nx5000s which will allow them to have dmr, p25, analog. Dmr analog in same zone. Then p25 conventional and analog in another zone.

Colfax County SO uses a 3 frequency multisite repeater system. The repeaters are in 3 different locations and are tied together via an internet connection. So a unit in Springer can talk on the Springer repeater and the units in Raton can hear that unit on the Raton repeater.
The mobile radios are capable of using VHF analog frequencies and they do have the SP car to car frequency in them I have actually heard them talk to the SP but it rarely happens, however they usually use Raton PD dispatch to relay to SP dispatch one would wonder if they really know how to use all the capabilities of the radios they have. The radios have GPS that can be queried by the sheriff in case an officer needs help. TS1 is the primary talk slot in the clear with TS2 being encrypted. However sometimes I have seen TS2 in the clear to.
