What do you all think is a fair price for a used NX-210? Are there features or configurations one should look for?

I've probably have well over 400 of the NX-410 and NX-210's at work. Many of those purchased in 2011/2012. I've had exceedingly few issues with these radios. The 210's were used in our PD with good results. I've got about 20 of the 410's in rental fleets that have taken a lot of abuse without issues. The 210s are often overlooked on the used VHF portable market.

I'd probably base the price off age and wether or not it had a recent alignment. Not sure I'd pay $300 for one unless it was in like-new condition with a recent trip to the service monitor. For an average used one, I'd probably look for something in the $200 range. New/list price in 2014 was $734 with the dealer cost way less than that.

Not many internal options on these, other than the IS rating, man down switch, voice guide/storage, and the encryption modules. Most of those not much use to the hobbyist.

Pretty much any external accessories would fall into the 'expendable' category and would need replacement with new unless it was obvious tested and in good shape.

I should've specified; $300 at most and in quite good condition lol. Most are beat and a lot coming out of the RRs have the lettering worn off the keypads. Also, if it comes from Union Pacific it'll likely have a Ni-Mh battery that probably will need replaced so factor that in to the cost. I've had a few batteries break at the latch now, so thats something to watch as well on any used battery.

My only real complaint with the radio was that the keypad buttons stood a bit proud of the case and would get worn off over time.

It also necessitates having a keypad lock set on one of the side buttons, lest the radio wander off to another zone...

I was really lucky and got mine for $120 including holster, speaker mike, charger and two batteries, but I've seen them on eBay running between $200 and $300.

If you're lucky enough to get an ex-RR one with RR firmware, it can be set to automatically lock after 30 seconds.

Only able to adjust that setting with the AAR version software though, normal KPG-111D won't be able to adjust that. I'll have to experiment later and see if the setting sticks after being programmed with normal KPG-111D or not.
