on the Ct Stae police System page I saw this:

The new zone C727, is Active, and talkgroups are moving into the new zone, once all talkgroups are in the new zone, 4b16 will no longer be the system ID.

Troops that are in the new Zone: B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, K, W.
Troops in old zone: L, A.

what does this mean? will that mean iyou can listen to any talk group in all zones-sites?

someone probably hears a talkgroup on a C727 site and they are submitting that as a change in the system.
As far as I can tell it is inaccurate.
As of right now, Troop B, 4B16 site 4, is still in operation.

I am currently hearing the following on the Troop G zone Id'ing as 4b16
Troop A
Troop H
Troop I
Troop G
I have been listening all weekend and it is coming through very clear here in Norwalk.
Don't think I have heard all these troops before, so it sounds like some things are definitly changing.

The appearance of a talkgroup on a particular site is likely to be a Smartzone affiliation feature (or change) rather than any significant site change.

The only way to tell for sure is to run a Trunker type program on the system and looking at the output for affiliations, rejections, adjacent sites, etc.

CSP had submitted documents to the FCC in a recent filing that indicates there will be continue to be 2 systems.

Zone 1 - 4B16 - will continue to have
Site 1 - Troop G
Site 2 - Troops A & I
Site 3 - Troop L
Site 4 - Troop B
Site 8 - Troop F
IR Sites 9, 10, 11, 12, 15
ERV

Zone 2 - C727 - will have
Site 1 - Troops C & K
Site 2 - Troop E
Site 3 - Troop D
Site 4 - Troop H (& W)
Site ? - future site on John Tom Hill in Glastonbury (probably for Rentschler Field)
ERV

not likely, the nearest East zone is Troop H and it appears that it has Troop L TGs blocked.

Dear Cg Why does the Troop H site have Troop L blocked? is there a reason why?

There is no reason for the talkgroup in Troop H coverage area. Since the 868.6125 Troop B site is on the same tower on the border area, there is adequate overlap.
There is limited channel capacity in a system. One way to save space is to not allow traffic where it is not needed.

they will be remaining talkgroups on 4b16 till they get converted over to the new c727 are being converted, there trying to make a change in the system so its totally csp statewide.

updates as they come in will be posted.

You are confusing me.
Is this a question or do you have info that the CSP are changing the whole system over to the second ID. The system is already all CSP so that part doesn't make sense. The talkgroups are transmitted through the Prime and Remote Sites, the sites are what gets changed. They will be making some talkgroup changes but supposedly nothing significant.

Chris, is it safe to assume that this is transparent to the field users and CAN be set up in the 996T to be transparent to the listeners?

will be so much easier with the conn state police system, i have a 396, and the the CC come from whereever you dont even know what site, but from the field info they want to make a system change, but it will take time, but right now there splitting.

It would be seamless if you try to mimic the way the system works with the CSP radios themselves. You need to use multiple banks in the older scanners or multiple systems in the newer ones to have the most control over what you hear. If you use the preloaded CSP system in the Uniden scanners, you could do better.
If a talkgroup is not broadcast over a particular Site (because it is blocked or no one is affiliated on it), there is no way you can make it happen.

the splitting i mentioned is with the system i know i have no control over it, however they are wanting to move to one system, but right now they have two system so they can have even more range, thats what i was trying to say.

I'm using multiple sites, but not multiple systems. Since my listening is while passing through on my way south or back home it's not that critical. I think I followed your posting on Scan Cape Cod to set up the sites. If I'm not in my truck, I have the 396, but that's set up as one system too. If I lived in CT or stayed their with any frequency, I'd probably set each site up as a system.
