confused. need help

I was just wondering how i am able to receive lake county, charigrin falls, solon.
but not hearing anything from the Greater cleveland system. can anyone help.

Looking at the system, some of the talkgroups are encrypted but not all of them. What specifically are you monitoring?

Monitoring the Ohio Marc-IP : Multi-Agency. when i do that I'm able to receive solon, stark, lake by the river, chagrin etc.
but when i put on the GCRCN I get nothing. it showing that the signal strength are good. but not picking anything up.

You're about 40 miles away from the closest GCRCN site, you would need an impressive antenna system to reliably hear them from your location.

You are simply too far away to hear the GCRN in Warren.

Your signal strength meter could be off or you're receiving interference.

I have picked up GCRCN using a RS800 Rubber Duck as far East as Orwell on Rt 322 but that is about the fringe. Beyond Rt 45 nada.

I have trouble picking up GCRCN in Cuyahoga County so I could imagine Trumbull county is tough. I had business in Beachwood the other day and decided to roam to pick up Hunting Valley and Chagrin towers and it was pretty fruitless. Makes me even wonder why those towers are on the system?

The Hunting Valley & Chagrin sites are low capacity fill in sites primary for the water department. Most public safety talk groups are not allowed to affiliate on them.

I appreciate everyone input. it really helps. right now I do have it connected to a jimM-75 AMPLIFIER but still nothing. I will keep trying

I'm about 30 miles from site 1 which is on the Justice Center. I'm using an Altelix AY09G13 Yagi antenna for 850 to 950 mhz with a SDR and Unitrunker 2 with no issues.

Using either my TRX-1 or TRX-2 it's spotty because of the simulcast system.
