Hi,

I am not that familiar with control channel only programming for trunked scanning in my Uniden 296d...Does this mean that If I program a trunked system this way, I do not have to program all of the channels for the system in my scanner...just the control channels?

I know I must be in the 19th century with this...but that would in effect free up channel space for other frequencies if I used this method of programming right? Is it good for motorola and EDACS systems?

Any help would be appreciated...Thank you

Yes thats what it means. I was experimenting with this the other night with the NJSP motorolo type II system. It seemed to work pretty good as soon as I got the preset map set to the correct setting. I'm using a BC780. I monitored the system with another radio to compare the results. It was working for me though I didn't monitor it for as long as I wouldv'e liked. It hadn't loged all the frequencies in the system nut it had all the active ones and it probably wouldv'e found the rest if there were activity on them. Have fun!

Oh BTW, my 780 only does control channel only on motorola systems type I and II.

Control Channel Only mode only works for Motorola, not for EDACS (to complete answering the original question).
