I'm having a hard time figuring out what kind of system Cove Point LNG plant is using. I can hear what sounds like a control channel on one of their frequencies but I can't decode it with my PRO-668. I'm not setup to pull audio off of the scanner so unless I can get the scanner to decode it I my instance of Unitrunker won't figure it out for me (unless I'm doing something wrong in which case, please help me!).

Frequencies are:

451.1125
451.2000
451.6000
451.7000
451.8875*
451.9625

* Where I think I'm hearing control channel data.

Is there anyone in the area that might help me with this?

Thanks,
Eric

The FCC license lists the following three emission types in use for the system (licenced for each of these on all frequencies in the system): 8K30F7W, 11K0F3E, and 11K0F3D. If I'm correct, this would be IDAS / NexEdge and MotoTRBO. Looks like this is a DMR trunked system and would therefore not be able to be scanned on 99.9% of scanners or receivers. I believe on the the new digital AOR receiver would be able to hear this unless you were using DSD software.

That does look like NXDN by emissions.

If you're able to provide your computer discriminator audio or a pipe from a software defined radio attached, I'd suggest throwing DSD+ at it.

Your scanner won't decode NXDN, but DSD+ will.

Thanks for the information. I have plans of doing this for the future as I'd like to be able to figure these things out myself. :)

Is there a cheat sheet that would explain what emission types to look for for each type of digital/TRS system?
