So I was on the ULS today and ran across something new. A license with a group of 4 frequencies FB8 Station class in Mendocino County for the state and under the Eligibility it said the following:
90.20a - OFFICIAL DUTIES OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RADIO INTEROPERABLE SYSTEM
here are the details
CAHTO PEAK, 8 KM WEST OF
LAYTONVILLE, CA MENDOCINO County
151.13
154.8
155.235
155.445
After looking at the CRIS website I do see a Rural VHF system , so there's that apparently

It already is a multiband system. They have VHF sites in the Eastern Sierra and up in the very north part of the state.

My understanding was that CalFire will have access to the system. I have not heard anything about them moving to -just- the CRIS system. I'd be surprised if that ever happened due to the amount of mutual aid involved.

If you search back through some of the older NAPCO frequency coordination logs, you'll see some of the sites.

Thanks for all that guys, I notice no sites in Imperial County yet. Hoping for something on Black Mountain near where I live.

Curious how Cahto Pk got 154.800 approved with Yolo Sheriff so close but I admit I don't know the terrain enough if one of the more prominent peaks like MSH blocks the view between a Yolo site and Cahto.

Just completed a road trip from Redding to San Diego and back taking my daughter to various UC campuses. My WS1098 and BCT15X were singing the whole way down and back. Forgot I had 154.905 in some of the scan lists and noticed some P25 coming across on the 15X. Confused at first, but then I remembered it had been assigned to some of the VHF CRIS sites. I did not pay attention to my location when the P25 came across, but I know I was in a CHP COA region when it came across.
