Im looking for a cable for my SDS100 scanner. I bought the BC-SGPS unit awhile ago but all the extra cables I had were thrown away. I bought two from different companies but they dont seem to work, is there a place that sells this cable because I dont want to spend another 100 bucks for the GPS unit just to get a cable.

Did you check here? Uniden sells replacement cables. If it's not listed on this page, call them. That way you are assured of getting the correct one

This one worked for me.

Good thing is, if it doesn't work you can return it to Amazon. It is the cable that connects to the serial part of the GPS power box and to the SDS100. You can't connect directly from the GPS puck to the SDS100. Only the SDS200 and Beartracker 885 can do that. This cable will also supply power to the SDS100. You must also have the cigarette lighter plug cable that connects to the BC-SGPS power box.

Im just trying to get rid of all the wires but I have an update, got a BR-355N5 puck & the Uniden cable to power both, the puck is blinking which means it has a lock, but still no GPS data. My computer sees the cable but no data from the puck, Ive checked everything but I dont have a clue on whats going on here, any ideas from anyone?

A standard cable uses the data- and data+ pins to program the scanner using USB data but GPS data uses the ID pin 4 in the connector of the scanner for serial RX data and not USB data.

A computer uses USB but the Uniden GPS uses RS232 serial data so cannot be connected directly to a computer without using an adapter cable that connects the ID pin to RX data of a 9-pin serial connector. You can then use a USB to serial cable to a computer, if it doesn't have a 9-pin serial connector.

Have you tried to change the GPS baud rate in the SDS100 settings?
The Factory 4800 setting for Uniden GPS.
Go to menu
Location
GPS setup
Serial
Change to 9600 and see if it works.
If the setting is at 9600 and not working try 4800 one of the two works.

Did it all, I even used a program to see if the puck sees any satellites & it doesnt, its flashing like crazy but the program says it sees no birds. Im wondering if the puck is defective. Im using a Uniden cable to connect to my SDS100. If im not mistaken as soon as I plug it in, the GPS should light up, but its not.
