decode control channel

is there a good control channel decoder for bc296d. can't seem to get the pro96com to work any thing else out their that is simple to use?

I see no indication in the manual or Wiki entry here that the BC296D has control channel data output, so probably nothing can do what you want, since the scanner doesn't support it.

To use that scanner to monitor/decode a control channel, you'd have to add a discriminator tap and use Unitrunker or similar software.

The Pro96Com software specifies what scanners it will work with, and the 296 isn't one of them:

is their a scanner that can track p25 type 2 vhf like the 296d can track the 800mhz

Since we're in the Uniden forums, the 396T, 996T, 396XT and 996XT all, I believe can. And the XT models have a control channel output type function, so you can do research on your mysterious VHF P25 system using UniTrunker.

And I'm not entirely sure about this, but Pro96Com should work on this system as well with the PRO-96 or 2096. Go ask in our Trunking Decoders forum about this, which is the proper place for this discussion....73 Mike
