This is not the answer you want today but you will need to update your HP database using the Sentinel software on Monday then update the radios database.

I am pretty good with hacking the systems by hand in the HP but would not even try this. My HP is silent too...

If you happen to have the (paid) software package ARC Patrol then (I think) you could do this update manually but the channels will still be changing tomorrow.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.2; en-us; DROID RAZR Build/9.8.2O-72_VZW-16) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30)

As far as Kent and Sussex will you guys be able to have the frequencies in the database. Also what will I need to do to the pro96's and psr500

if it's like what they're doing up north, you can copy the primary control channel and lower it by 15mhz. But, we won't know until they go live.

What software do you have for the PSR-500? I use ARC500 (both regular and Pro) and it's pretty simple to change the frequencies, even to update the rebanding tables.

Whatevah.
I was considering doing this and just re-banding K&S to leave fewer people in the dark when it happens....assuming they update soon. Seems to make sense...just need some time before Sunday night.

Ah, so now I know why it's totally silent - bummer. I guess I'm going to have to upgrade the Pro96, then get the update to my software, and look for the new information for the DE agencies. I knew I could find out the reason why it went silent on here. Just needed the time to look!

Before you go through all of that trouble, see what you can get by simply programming the new frequencies into the Pro-96.

Depending on what frequencies were used, you may not have to do anything else!

I went through that here in Cape Cod, MA. I was informed by a ham friend that had heard that the rebranding process here used frequencies that could be used by even the scanners that were listed as "obsolete", such as my Uniden 780XLT and sure enough, I am happily listening to the Mass. State Police re-banded system with it!

So, see if you can simply plug in the new freq's and give it a go.

What was suggested ^^^ only works if there are no Voice Channels below 854 MHz. Since the State is using Voice Channels in the 851-854 MHz Band, you will need Win96 to program the Rebanded Bandplan Tables and new Control Channels. It cannot be done by hand.

thanks Folks. I have become too dependent on this to fall asleep with, NOT that I could with alot going on. So the silence has been eerie to say the least. I think I have almost all of de in the 96 and I am not sure about the 996. i am not even sure How i got that thing programmed back in 04. :) I may understand SOME computing, but the talk groups vex me!

In my Pro-2096 (mobile version of the 96) I just plugged in the 853.2125 control channel and it's picking up the new channels perfectly. No other rebanded channels entered in the scanner. Never updated a custom table. It just works. For how long, we will see. But for now, it works.

I would think, but I'll keep an eye on it and see. This is the first rebanded system I'm monitoring with it.

It will work except for Voice Channels ending with .XXX0. The PRO-2096 with Standard MOT Bandplan won't tune to 851.7250 MHz It will tune to 862.7125 MHz instead. You will miss comms on 851.7250 MHz. Its the only VC that wont't work with the MOT Standard Bandplan on the NCCo Zone. Kent and Sussex Counties have a few VC's that end in .XXX0.

You may need to add the custom tables loadable only via software to modify the bandplan - it can't be done manually. I am not sure about this, but I think that even tho the state system is fully digital, it's not running a 9600 baud CC, so you would probably need to load the tables.

Fortunately we have that information for the 2 main packages for these radios - ARC96 and Win96 in our wiki...

ARC96 - The RadioReference Wiki

and see the bottom of;

Win96 - The RadioReference Wiki
