Hi all, I've been a little confused with the different type of p25 systems coming out and haven't had a lot of luck monitoring them.

Most of the time the Delaware P25 network just shows up as dat no voice, periodically I'm getting half a conversation. I have same issue with philly and Maryland.

I know Delaware's System is Motorola and is using tdma now, so should the system be set up now as x2 tdma in the uniden scanner, not Motorola? The reason I ask is from time to time it doesn't seem to track correctly gives out control channel noise from time to time, I've also noticed a few firehouse company channels that give out a noise sounding like encryption but I thought it just skip channel on its own when encryption is in use.

perhaps the issues I'm experiencing have to do with the band plans? I'm not sure how to figure out what to put there. I have wilmington towers as standard because it didn't need rebanded. But I'm not sure about the other Motorola towers or p25 towers. When I added towers from sentinel it says 25khz spacing, seems to me like it should be 12khz spacing if this is all narrowband.

Thanks in advance

There are, to the best of my understanding, very few X2 TDMA systems out there now. I don't know which systems you are trying to program, but I think you can safely ignore that type...Mike

No, nothing in Delaware is TDMA. The p25 Phase system is primarily for Department of Corrections, DELWIN. The Motorola system, State of Delaware Public Safety is where most of State police and county agencies are.

The state system is p25 Digital. No tdma . Where are you trying to hear system from?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I asked too many questions at once ill break it down.

Listening from NCC Delaware with Uniden 536

Delaware System
I can listen to this system with few issues, However I do sometimes get CC noise from time to time when a tgid shows up on the screen instead of voice. Changing all the talk-groups to digital and not automatic in Sentinel did stop some of this but not all.

Ive also noticed Elsmeres's company channel sounds enc but it doesn't show enc on the screen which led me to believe that it was a tdma talk group. I Noticed a lot of state agencies are getting newer Motorola radios as well as fire-companies all at once it seems so I figure some changes are either coming or already happened.

My understanding is this is a Motorola type 2 with P25 Voice, so the correct system when building in Sentinel should be Motorola NOT P25 Correct?

Also I understand that Wilmington site never went through the re-banding process because it didn't need to, so I have that site set as standard under band plan. How do I know what values to put in the band plan for the other sites or should they be set to standard as well or custom values?

P25 System Delwin

System should be set to P25? I take it there is no special setting for Phase 1-2?
How do I know what values for the Band Plan?

Hi,Chris here is the link for Kent county reband frequencies and there is also one for Sussex if needed in the database. Sounds like you dont have your scanner set right? Mike

Thank you. Think you forgot the link though.

I was listening to the Delwin system last night I think its just scanning so many towers that it misses some comms. I have scanner set to monitor all ncc sites at once however it seems 90% is coming from the newark tower.

This system will only send comms through a site if a radio is affiliated with it right?

Hello,
If you only listen to the main simulcast sites then all traffic is carried.
The other sites only carry traffic if someone affiliates to it.
