based on my past experience with fed-ex ground of getting my pckge a day before the "estimated delivery day".....I'm thinking today I should get my pro-197. This will be my 1st first digital and 1st use of software....boy, will I have a lot of annoying questions for you seasoned vets!

honestly if the 197 is like the 106 you want need software its not hard to get running at all

Got my Pro 197 yesterday that was ordered Thanksgiving day

Ordered and received the programming cable.

The included Butel ARC500 software was very confusing. Yeah, it worked but confusing and not intuitive. Downloaded the WIN500 software. Much clearer how to do things. This is the software I'm going to register.

Got it up and running last night scanning all the local PDs. Great radio. Good sounding audio. Very sensitive. I can receive all kinds of stuff within a 30 mile radius with just the included telescoping antenna.

This readio is a keeper!

Ordered mine on Thanksgiving morning and received notification earlier that it has arrived. I'm at work and hope to check it out tonight- if I'm lucky and my wife says I can look at my Christmas present, anyway:lol:
