01/18 ~ At Approximately 09:47 Denver Firefighters were alerted to a structure fire at 645 Wolff Street. Responding companies reported smoke in the air while en-route. First due Engine 20 arrived to flames showing from the Alpha side of the Valley Park Apartments, building 5. Engine 20 pulled a line and began a fast attack on tank water. District Chief 6 arrived on scene and assumed command. Engine 12 and Engine 23 completed an extended supply line lay in to the fire and pulled another attack line. Tower 4 arrived and went to the roof while other crews secured the utilities of the building. Engine 20 completed horizontal ventilation and got a quick knock on the main body of the fire. Interior crews started pulling ceiling to check for extension. Fire crews had reports that 2 minors were unaccounted for from the fire unit. Crews completed primary and secondary searches of the fire unit and both Bravo and Delta exposures and all were clear. Tower 4 cut inspection holes on the roof and found smoke but no heat signatures. Companies located and extinguished some fire in the exterior eves and soffits and the interior crews found no fire extension. It was determined that parties were accounted for. Truck 12 & Denver Health Paramedics treated two minors for smoke inhalation. Crews completed salvage & overhaul and Arson was called to the scene. Two minors were transported by Denver Paramedics for smoke inhalation. There were no other reported injuries reported, the fire is still under investigation but initial reports indicate it may have been started by minors.
