DENVER - There was a fire early Wednesday morning near Cheeseman Park in a high rise apartment building.
Police say they were able to knock the fire out by roughly 8:30 a.m. The fire originated on the fourth floor of the Coachmen Apartments located at 1044 Downing Street in Denver.
Firefighters say the man who lived in the apartment was taken to an area hospital with injuries. Further details were not immediately released.
According to authorities, apartments above the fourth floor were singed by the flames but no other injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and firefighters will continue with their investigation.
