When firefighters first arrived, the flames were so large and intense that they thought a nearby house might go up in flames as well so they called in a second-alarm and requested help.
The first house, which was recently "scraped" and rebuilt, appears totaled, a 7NEWS photographer said. It had luxurious wooden panels on the outside and a red stone roof.
Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
The second home has fire damage to the corner of the garage.
Firefighters said it was tough putting out the blaze because the new house was built with so many smaller rooms that the fire was "compartmentalized."
