• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Digital Contacts not showing in "available" menu when creating "scan list"

Hello everyone. For some reason I can no longer select all my digi contacts when making a scan list for a channel. Some are showing and some are not. All the setting for the contacts are the same baring the number and the name. I can not see any reason why they would not show up in the "available" menu. They are showing up in the "digital rx group list" just not the scan list section.

I havnt changed any settings in my CPS as far as im aware.

Has anyone had this issue?

Cheers

You scan channels not contacts, this isn't something new that would have changed
With all due respect youre wrong. You select the talkgroup or individual "contact" from youre contacts list which is placed in a scan list. You then choose which scan list you wish to scan when setting up the channel (see pic)

With all due respect, im not. You create a digital contact with either a TGID (group call) or an individual RID (private call). Then you create an RX group list and assign these TGs to that group list. You create a digital channel and assign an RX group list under the receive side and a TX contact under the TX side.

It looks like you labeled "WORLD WIDE" as your contact name and your channel name.

Your screenshot as "proof" is an AI response from Google that has 0 specifics and is generally wrong.

Its not my first time programming an XPR and when you ask for help it's generally frowned upon to tell the people trying to help you that they're wrong. Good luck

Good luck = If you want to "frown apon" someone simply saying what youve said isnt correct then thats youre prerogative. I know its not correct because ive already done what ive done and I used CONTACTS IN A SCAN LIST! Just dont reply to anymore of my questions in future if you dont like the replies. I did say with RESPECT youre wrong so if you want to sulk then so be it. Good Luck yourself!

With all due respect, scan lists only contain channels.

RX Group list contains Group Calls or Talk Groups. I do not believe you can put individual contacts into a RxGroup list.

The RX Group list isn't a 'scan list' persay, it is a list of talkgroups the radio will unmute if it detects them on the channels programmed time slot.

K2NEC is correct, you have a channel and contact named the same.

In your screen capture the, within the code plug tree, under CONTACTS(Group Calls and Private Contacts) shows a CONTACT(Group Call)named WORLDWIDE.

In the Available list, you have a CHANNEL named WORLDWIDE.

In the MEMBERS list, you have the CHANNELS that you have included in that particular scan list.

Scan lists ONLY contain channels. The Group or Private call is selected with in the programming of the channel itself.

If you scroll through your channels, I'd bet you are going to find a channel named WORLDWIDE.
