digital vs. analog

I admit, I know nothing about scanners. The question I have is this: when i"m looking at a particular county, (Merrimack for example) how do I determine what channels are digital and which ones are analog?

PL's and DPL's will be analog

NAC's indicate P25 aka Digital

When looking thru the RRDB look for P25 to indicate Digital modes, that a scanner can RX

FYI - Just about every Police Department in the State is now digital, including SP & County. Most of the FD's are still analog. Hope this helps as you sift through your searches.
