I don't use location control, so can't say if that has anything to do with it? I'm not familiar with anytone, but if it's like Unication, it might receive a trunked system is conventional mode, so that's why I asked if this is confirmed as OFT during a conventional search. I have 2 systems near me are Cap+ systems, but only use 1-2 frequencies. That might explain why you can't decode it in OFT.

No sir, I do not have definitive knowledge that it is 100% a DCDM (Dual Channel Direct Mode) signal. They are simplex, not using a repeater, and the SDS100 picks it up in Conventional, but not OFT. Other Users on other frequencies come up in DMR OFT mode even though they are simplex, so I've been wondering if it was a DCDM channel, because the AT radio has a provision for that in the CPS, so that might explain why it would pick it up, but not the SDS100. in OFT.

I just thought it was weird that the SDS100 would pass audio and TG's in conventional mode, but not OFT. How would you confirm it is OFT during a conventional search? CAP+/ CON+ / DMRT3 systems usually say so in the top of the screen.
The Anytone radio will not listen to a single freq CAP+ RAS system, but can listen to user inputs on the repeater input frequency if close enough. I checked 5 mhz up for a similiar signal on both radios, but haven't found anything, and am literally next to the user when they are using it.

Be careful being right next to a transmitting radio, as it has been noted they're suspectable to having the front ends blown out.

Yes, when you run a conventional search, you would see the indicators you mentioned.

When I saw right next to, I mean 1 mile or so from a portable, and can verify LOS to the unit, and therefore shouldn't be a reception / signal quality issue.
Conventional mode shows DMR and Slot 1, so I didn't see why it shouldn't function correctly as a OFT.
Did you see any programming issues with the screen shots?

I would give a quick key to each System to isolate it to the OFT system. If that doesn't change anything, I'd try programming a new system with it's own quick key as a MotoTRBO trunk system. Give the frequency that's active as LCN-1.

I've read this reply a few times, but I'm failing to understand the reasoning for all the steps. In regards to the quick keys, what effect would they have if I have only 1 FL, and 3 systems in it as shown, and hold on each one at a time? I had been holding on the conventional, and when I heard activity, swap to the OFT by turning the top knob? I would continue hearing audio on the AT radio, but nothing on the SDS100. Is there a secret function unlocked by using quick keys? I have other OFT systems it successfully monitors without them?

I have it programmed as a MotoTRBO trunk with 1 frequency, CC search, LCN of 0 to start. As a point of clarification and after using the radio and reading other responses from Ubbe, Jon Wienke, and others, I thought I understood the differences as such.

Conventional - Monitors the channel only in regards to PL / DPL / RAN / CC / NAC. If it has a valid squelch release code to match, it will pass unencrypted digital or analog audio and decode in the proper format. There is no limiting different TG's if the CC / RAN / NAC match. If it's a CAP+ system, it can hang on the beacon.
OFT - Add's TG limiting to the conventional format. Can be used to monitor a TG across multiple IP Site Connect style, or multiple TG's on a single site, or both. Does not handle CAP+ / CON+ DMRT3 trunking formats. Cannot be used on a single frequency shared CAP+ repeater.
MotoTrbo Trunk - Used to monitor single or multiple frequencies across CAP+ / CON+ /XPT / DMRT3 formats. Must analyze system to get correct channel map / LSN / LCN. Can Trunk track talkgroups with this method.

If my summaries are vastly wrong, please correct me. I fell out of the hobby for some years, have been playing catch up for 3 years, and most of what I have learned above is by trial and error and reading / trying to learn here.

The reason I put those summaries is to understand your diagnostics steps better. I'm failing to understand how a DMR Slot1 would decode or analyze any data on a simplex or DCDM or single repeater. Will MotoTRBO trunk mode return any results, or are you expecting it to stay silent? Are you expecting it to be a unrecognized trunking format that OFT can't decode?

Just taking a shot to see if it makes a difference. One thing I would change, is the LCN on MotoTRBO systems to LCN-1. I don't think I've ever seen a Cap+ systems with an LCN of 0.
