Have there been any updates with TRBOMAX?
I haven't sat on the system (Newport site) for a few months and I noticed that sites 29, 46, and 55 have not updated control channels from channel 1.

You may notice a lot of updates to the Fleettalk Carolinas system. With quite a few new sites coming online in South Carolina recently, I changed some site numbers to better reflect the system breakdown. This applied exclusively to sites in South Carolina. This is a change in the RR database to avoid duplicate site numbers, and doesn't mean there were changes to the radio system itself, other than the new sites coming online.

It looks like there is a new Fleettalk site in Donalds, Abbeville County. It is showing up as a neighbor to the Greenwood site. License is WRWG521. Frequency is 462.7375. I am unable to monitor it from my location. Just thought I would pass along the information in case someone was in that area.

Does anyone have a color code for the two frequencies below? They are both motorboating like a DMR signal, I have tried all color codes and slots but get nothing. The signal strength is full bars on both of these. I think that these might be a part of a Cap+ system because of the data bursts every two seconds.

You're in the Greenville area, right?

461.4375 is probably WRAL683, which appears to be Michelin Headquarters at I-85 and Pelham Rd. It's emission is 7K60FXE, which is DMR. There are two repeaters on the license, so you may be correct about Cap+. Plug in 462.400 and see if you hear anything.

464.1125 is probably WPEP930 Richland Communications on Paris Mtn. At one time I monitored it with Color Code 4 Talkgroup 202 on slot 1 and talkgroup 15323001 on slot 2. Not sure if that information is still current. I recall seeing encrypted comms from Richland Communications. Note that this license includes emissions for narrow-band analog, NXDN 4800 and 9600 and DMR. So it's possible that it could be something other than DMR now.

Using an application like DSD+ Fast Lane can help identify use of digital channels very quickly.

Yes. I'm in the Greenville area.

You're correct. The Michelin in Greenville is licensed for 461.4375 and 462.400 on WRAL683. However, 462.400 is used for paging purposes by Michelin with CSQ on analog. Yesterday I heard an actual voice transmission, they we're talking about they couldn't locate a wire for something. Back a few months ago, I got a DMR hit on 462.400 using a color code of 12 Slot 1 is TG 2001 and Slot 2 TG 2002. Slot 1 sounded like normal operations and slot 2 sounded like maintenance, they we're talking about the ice machine for first shift?? So maybe this is Michelin using DMR on this frequency? The license states that the use of radios on these frequencies is for maintenance and security at corporate office. So since they are paired together in this one license, could that mean that 461.4375 is also using a color code of 12?

I'll give 464.1125 another try with the DMR info that you suggested and let you know if I have any luck with it. If it is encrypted, I'll just let it go because nothing will be heard anyways but it's worth trying! Thank you for the help!

Greater Greenville Sanitation

460.3625 DMR Color Code 10 Slot 1 TG 14. The radio traffic I heard was a sanitation truck calling the shop.

Forgive my ignorance, but I have a question about Fleet Talk and radios showing up as "Registered" on a Talk group when viewing the traffic with an SDR stick in dsdplus. When it says a radio ID has "registered" on a talk group does it simply mean the radio has been turned on and is on that channel/talk group?

Brian,

I "parked" my scanner on 464.1125 color code 4 for both slots but never heard anything after monitoring for a two week period. It's probably the NXDN signal I'm hearing instead of DMR. Given the strong signal strength, looks like if it was DMR it would eventually decode but I get nothing on every color code including 0.

On the plus side, I did verify a few other DMR frequencies and submitted those to the database!

I caught DMR being used on common business frequency / yellow dot - 464.550 color code 1 slot 1 TG 1. It's active early in the morning but has only been heard maybe two or three times at the most.

The frequency below is also being used in DMR mode. On slot 1, I heard something like "you trying to call the shop?" and on slot 2 I heard something about two-day shipping or something similar sounding.

464.6125 DMR Color Code 5 Slot 1 TG 230
464.6125 DMR Color Code 5 Slot 2 TG 232

Edgefield county will soon be transitioning to a Mototrbo Capacity plus system in a few weeks. Just a heads up, submit any findings

See this post: SC Fleettalk NXDN system

@c4181 reported finding a site Fleettalk L219-8 while at USC campus in Columbia. There is no license for those specific frequencies.

Here are the channels and frequencies I found in DSD for site 8:
84 - 451.0375
94 - 451.1625
533 - 461.6500
568 - 462.0875
672 - 463.3875
722 - 464.0125
737 - 464.2000 (Control Channel)

HOWEVER - Lets fast forward to today

I have recently confirmed a lot of information in recent days in the 3xx territory, including:

301 Columbia / Arlington Estates
326 Columbia / Green Acres
327 Gilbert

And all three of these sites list site 8 as a neighbor with a CC of 568 462.0875
Now take a look at

WQYF857 - Rock Communications (Columbia SC proper)

Code:
451.03125 451.0375
451.16875 451.1625
451.20625
461.46875
461.65625 461.65
462.0875 462.0875
463.38125 463.3875
463.69375
464.01875 464.0125
464.20625 464.200

As I mentioned, 462.0875 is still the CC. Looks like for this particular site Rock simply took advantage of the fact that they can use .00625 off with their narrow NXDN48 stuff.

I'm sure that this site 8 referenced would be 308 Columbia with license WQYF857 and location 1600 Harden St (on top of the Benedict College buliding)

Site 308 isn't in the database. The OPs post was perhaps from 2019. I'm sure information regarding that site is updated. I'd encourage somebody who has DSDPlus and lives IN Columbia to actually park on 462.0875 and see what all pops up in the Channel Activity window.

Although what @c4181 provided back in 2019 should be enough for the site to be added into the DB.

Mike

I have received a talk group from (I think) DHEC EMS on TG 10000. Probably due to hurricane Debby (duh). They said they were monitoring the NXDN system and will occasionally send out notices. Looks like it went statewide on NXDN. Interesting...

On Friday Anderson School District 2 Career/Technology Center was very active on DMR. I heard activity early morning and again around noon time. Here's the DMR info:

452.175 Color Code 10 Slot 1 TG 1
