LCN3 and LCN4 are most likely different frequencies, but I have seen a system use the same frequency on two different LCNs. I think in this case it was LCN4 and LCN7. No idea who would do that unless it was a programming error.

We have a nomenclature problem here, I think.

System frequency pair A Slot 1 is channel 1.
System frequency pair A Slot 2 is channel 2.
System frequency pair B Slot 1 is channel 3.
System frequency pair B Slot 2 is channel 4.
etc.

I have not seen a CAP+ system configured any differently yet. Channel 3 would have to exist on frequency B, not some other frequency.

Perhaps someone can clarify (for me at least) which of the above is LCN vs LSN.

A and B would be the LCN, LSN would be Slot 1 and 2 on either A or B

Programming DMR

Nice to have Sentinel working for adding/editing DMR. I just added 666 UIDs to a DMR ham radio system to cover all the current DMR-MARC UIDs for the state of Texas. However, I wish they would add some better, and basic to most programming software for radios I might add, editing features. To add 666 UIDs I first had to click the Plus Sign 666 times, then select exactly 666 of the new UID lines, then paste them in from a spreadsheet via the Windows Clipboard. I wanted to add all the DMR UIDs for the whole USA, but clicking the Plus Sign over 16,000 times is way more than I want to do today. Arthritis would prevent that I'm sure, or at least make me pay heavily for doing it. So it would be nice to have a more robust editor for adding large numbers of items and NOT have to then select the exact number of lines to match the exact number of items on the clipboard. At the very least make the Plus Sign capable of being held down via a long click to add multiple lines in rapid succession.

I must be doing something wrong! I have a local HAM DMR repeater added in and have the UID's, Channels, Talk Groups, Freqs, but still can't hear anything! I see the DMR flashing in the display, but no auido comes thru. Trying to figure it out!

I posted how I set up my DMR One-Frequency Systems for DMR ham repeaters in one of the other threads for one of the earlier releases of the beta. Not sure which one right now, but if I get the time I'll try to locate it and give you a link. In the meantime you might want to turn on ID Searching and set color code to Any. DMR systems seem to be more difficult to receive signals from than P25 and analog systems. I'm having to use high gain antennas with DMR systems about 10 to 15 miles away, and cannot receive any of those that are 20+ miles away. The 536 is doing way better than my 436 though. My 436 is rather deaf on UHF DMR.

Ok, Tks. My closest one is only 10mi away, I can hear it with my MD-380, and I can see the DMR flashing. I'm using a wide band discone.

I had a MD-380 briefly before I returned it. It was good at hearing. I could hear two DMR ham repeaters at 10 and 17 miles away with it with just a small HT antenna on it. My x36 scanners require high gain external antennas to hear these same repeaters. When I put a good HT antenna like the Diamond RH77CA on my 436, it basically is no more than a very expensive paperweight as far as monitoring local DMR repeaters. So the MD-380 definitely has very good DMR reception. Don't expect the same level of reception from the scanners though.

I noticed the same here. I'm running a 536 and I only hear DMR repeaters with the help of significant signal boost. I can't compare with a DMR HT yet but I ordered the MD380 and the RT8. I will be happy to post a comparison report if anyone is interested for the sake of illustration and maybe feedback for Uniden. I will identify the repeater location on my next post and hope to be of assistance to others.

Edit:
The repeater I can't hear without signal amp is W4YP 448.975 Mhz Color Code 6. That is about 12 miles southwest of my location.

Same for WB6EFW 442.1375 Mhz Color Code 1 - About 12 miles northeast of my location.

Here is a link to the post I did way back on June 2 briefly explaining how I programmed the DMR One-Frequency Systems for each DMR ham repeater. It doesn't give much detail, but maybe it will help you a bit.

Also be sure to use UpMan's info in the wiki (linked below) under the section " Programming a DMR One-Frequency System" near the bottom of the page.

DMR and Priority DND Update

Today I have found that while in Priority DND the radio will not resume scanning after a conversation on a P25 UHF trunked system either. The system is P25 Implicit. I am not sure if that makes a difference. I have no other P25 systems I can hear in my area to do more testing.

The system can't be a P25 system. It is either a DMR system or a P25 system but not both.

You sure you are in the right thread?

See post #217. I added some info (maybe not the correct way) to what we found last night. That same issue is occurring on a P25 trunked system. It is DMR related as it appears this started to happen with the DMR release.

That is what I get for trying to update radio templates and respond to RR threads at the same time. Mea Culpa bearcat. :) I now see whatcha mean.
