In line with cookmaster's question, I would also like to know if the Whistler radios work when RAS is enabled on the system. I never got a reply from Whistler on this.

I'm seeing a fairly significant issue with my RX on a local DMR channel. Signal is full bars, and I seem to receive initial transmissions.... but then it goes silent. There will be several back and forth transmissions that it completely misses (this is while manually holding on the channel, not scanning). My XPR7550 is yapping away while the 1088 is completely silent. All channel parameters have been entered (CC, Slot, TG). Not using 'Any' or a wildcard at all.

Anyone else experiencing this? When it does work, it sounds fantastic.

Update: if I'm in scan mode it seems to work well. Once I hold on the channel however, no worky. It also doesn't appear to be showing Radio IDs properly. Currently TX'ing radio is 7... WS-1088 shows 1.

In the search limit function, when a dmr frequency is found, will the scanner show tg # color code etc?

Yes it does. Just tried limit search... Radio stopped on frequency, showed Color & Slot while the bottom line alternated between RID and TG. Very slick!

In the search mode, is there a way for the scanner to display the TG #, color code # and slot #? Also, is there a way to monitor a cap+ system that has multiple talk group numbers? Like on my Uniden 436 I can scan a system with a TG of 1 entered and it will search and scan all TGs.

It does. Check my post above.

Yes. A talkgroup value of 0 = 'Any'

Hmmm.... that's odd. Mine is working beside me as I type this. Perhaps your display settings in EZScan?

what should the display setting be set to? Also, is there anything that i have to do to the radio itself to show the tg and cc info?

In EZScan..

General Settings/Display Settings:
Display Mode: Advanced

Advanced Features tab I have:

Trunked System Channels
Line 3: Alpha Tag Only
Line 4: System and Site Name
Line 5: Radio ID (Alt) or VC/CC

For Conventional Channels:
Line 3: Alpha Tag Only
Line 5: Radio ID (Digital Only)

Jeff,

In EZ Scan, "General Settings" tab, on the left, under "Display Settings" put display to "Advanced" (I think this is what you achieved on your radio). But to show the control channel, there is one more step: In EZ Scan, in the "Advanced Features" tab on the top left there are settings for "Advanced Display Options." Set these accordingly.

You probably want the following:

  • Trunked System Channels
    • Line 3: Alpha Tag and TGID
    • Line 4: System Name (if you program by my rule that there should not be multiple sites programmed per system)
    • Line 5: Radio ID (Alt) or VC/CC (unless you don't care about the radio ID, then set it to VC/CC)
  • Conventional Channels
    • TGID and Alpha Tag
    • Radio ID (Digital Only)

Limit Search will display color code, slot, and received IDs (group and radio) independent of the settings described above.

If it's not displaying that information on the LCD, it's not decoding DMR.

In the image below, the bottom line will alternate between TGID and RadioID.

Sounds like you need to spend a little time getting familiar with your scanner :)

To transfer the changes to go Scanner/SD Card then Copy configuration to scanner memory/SD card.
