Thanks for the info. I was wondering if you had any ideas on some other callsigns heard:

- Many parks have "14" and "15" units. At some parks it they are 1404, 1510, etc, and others 14D, 14F, 15A, 15B. These appear to be mobile, while other callsigns like 11, 12 seem to be specific things, like front gate, campground office, etc. Any ideas/info
- I know what station x thru x are, but what is Station 16?
- What are "25" units, like 25102
- Are there other "stations" besides 16 and 20?

As far as the parks numbers. 11 would be the Asst. Manger or equivalent, 12 would probably be the campground office. 13 the contact station. The others would be rangers or summer workers and might be on foot in the park or in a vehicle of some sort working within the park.

Station 15 is Marquette (former Region I Headquarters)not sure if they still call them Regions or not. 15-100 would be Conservation Officer Supervisor (Capt.) Top Officer in U.P.
Station 16 is Roscommon (former Region II Headquarters) North Half of Lower Mi.
Station 17 would be in lower Mi near Lansing. Not sure where. (Reg III Headquarters) South half of Lower Mi.

Station 20 is the main headquarters in The Mason Bldg. in Lansing.
20-100 Chief of Law Div.
20-30 Chief of Wildlife Div. And so on

The "25" units may be like 20-5XX. I'm not sure what or who they are. Easiest way to identify them might be by what tg they use the most.

I forgot.

DEQ numbers are XX-200 thru XX-450 Which covers Waste Mgnt, Air Quality, Surface Water Quality, Envrionmental Response, Land and Water Mgnt, Geological Survey, Underground Storage Tank Division.

These are probably out of Lansing so the prefix XX would be 20-XXX.

Thanks again for the info. I am pretty sure they are 25 units. I have heard 25100, 25102, 25121, 25126 on some of the RAP talkgroups, plus 1253, and I just noticed this site has that labelled "DNR25, DNR Investigations". I don't get 1253 at home and have just heard it on the road.

The '25' units might be the RAP investigators. They would mostly be assigned out of the Lansing office.

The 1253 might be 12-53 which would be a District 12 Fire Specialist.
Dist. 12 is SW corner of the lower from Barry, Calhoun, and Branch counties, west to the lake.
There's a good map on the data page here in RR. DNR DISTRICTS

Could the "25" be CFS Officers?

The CFS Officers are Conservation Officers that are assigned to the "WILDLIFE RESOURCE PROTECTION SECTION"?

Below is a link to the Bi-Weekly DNR Law Inforcement Report that is published on the DNR Website. They give the report by Districts, but then at the bottom of the report they also include the "WILDLIFE RESOURCE RESOURCE PROTECTION SECTION"

"CFS Officers " This is "Beauracratic-speak" for Commercial Fish Specialists. ie C.O.s whose main responsibility is commercial fishing enforcement.

CFS Officers would patrol in boats whose call sign might be PB-X. Fisheries research might also use the PB-X call sign for their research boats.

In the past CFS officers worked out of Regional offices ie 15, 16, or 17 i don't know about now.

Hoofy, My references to 1253 were talkgroup 1253, which I recently noticed was listed as "DNR25" on this site. Sorry for the confusion.

I've heard 25-121, 25-123, 25-126 All sounded like some type of investigators.

BUT I have also heard 25-04 & 25-05 and they identified as PB (Patrol Boats)

DNR10 was busy in Detroit watching some bad fishermen yesterday. Heard a few units located near Connor and Mack and talking about the river.
