Actually heard activity on Brown, 151.400 yesterday. Seemed like it was related to holiday parking at a park. Not sure which one, but it was on a repeater and I think it was that distant machine referenced in my earlier post.

I will hear activity on Brown from time to time. Usually it's just radio checks and not actually anything useful except for the candle walk in the park in the fall.

Brown is very active around Devil's Lake SP. I'll hear maintenance, rangers, parking, and wardens. Sauk Co will contact wardens on the dispatch channel 155.7.

Our Conservation Officers in Illinois, operate on our State Police Troop dispatch frequencies. They also have car to car talk groups on the Statewide Motorola system. Some of our State Parks have local VHF repeaters including local DNR fire.

I've been monitoring the WI DNR Wisconsin Rapids Fire Control channels from the Fox Valley for the past few days, and I've noticed that the pattern of the 5th and 6th digits conforming to the county code seems to not just be confined to the base radios, but mobile and portables as well. Here's what I've logged:

TG 617 WI DNR Wisconsin Rapids Fire Control (WISCOM TG)
8210011 I'm guessing they erroneously keyed this channel, since Rapids uses the conventional channel rather than the TG. Based on the radio ID, looking at the 3rd, 5th, and 6th digits, (xx1x01x) I'm guessing it is a portable assigned to a unit based in Adams County.

151.145 (NAC 826)WI DNR Wisconsin Rapids Fire Control (CONV)
8200690 "Waupaca 1"
8200691 "Waupaca 71"
8200700
8200701 "Wautoma 1"
8200702 "Wautoma Low Ground"
8201712 Oshkosh #? (I missed the number)
8202020 "South Patrol" (RID indicates Ashland County, this is likely an outlier, an ID misread by my receiver, or maybe even a typo on my part)
8202699
8202727 "North Patrol"
8207690 "Waupaca 72"
8207700 "Ray 19"?
8207702 "Wautoma 72"
8210690 "Waupaca 1"
8210692 "Waupaca 71"
8214693 "Waupaca 72"
8214704 "319"?
8217690
8217692
8220722 "Rapids" (Dispatch)
8260701

xxxx69x seem to be all Waupaca County based units (County Code 69)
xxxx70x seem to be all Waushara County based units (County Code 70)
xxxx71x is an "Oshkosh" unit based in Winnebago County (County Code 71)
xxxx72x base station, is located in (Wisconsin Rapids) Wood County (County Code 72)

Anyone else notice this pattern in DNR RIDs?

Seems to always be 151.400 for most comms. Very good monitoring during the summer holidays as the freq. becomes very active at the state parks.

Heard Washburn 71 on Park Falls area dispatch pop up with an Iron county RID (82xx26x). Wondering if they might move/repurpose trucks around the state without reprogramming RID's to the new areas and it could be connected with the Ashland Co RID discussed earlier out of area.
