• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Do truckers still use CB Radios?

Guess his A/C wasn’t cool enough.

English proficiency or citizenship status are covers for what matters: IQ, and spatial-reasoning skills.

Panicky gets the results imaged. It’s a job highly affected by one’s emotional state that day.

Control of emotions isn’t a tell of today’s men. Too young for too long. What one might get away with in a Camry don’t work in even an empty truck (27-34,000#)

What do people who enter the US illegally have to do with truckers and CB radios?

Accident rates going up. More wrecks, and they’re more serious. No training & bogus licensure atop having hacked ELD HOS devices.

Radio is the heads-up needed. Cars can often get around problems which big trucks can’t.

Here’s the misleading cover story:

In 2016 the national fleet was still drum brakes stem-to-stern with manual transmissions.

Since then it changed overnight to disc brakes and auto trans. Far, far easier to stay out of trouble.

Safety standards, plus ELD, plus enforcement, are all significantly better than a decade ago.

I’ve not ever been hobby-horsing or exaggerating the need for High Performance Citizen Band.

To go further is to take it off public forum which shouldn’t matter given the consequences.

On-topic I’m glad to say I hear more NRC-equipped radios every six months. No requests for repeats is better than ever.

I doubt that the talented & experienced drivers will make the change today. May take awhile longer as this subject enters the public mind.

For them that research, I’d say we’ve been getting up momentum here at RR just in time.

Ok, illegal aliens who drive big trucks with less experience and circumvent rules = more and serious accidents. But I don't get what that has to do with the statement "with the new illegals getting deported, more truckers will start/have CB back in the truck". Are you talking existing truckers who don't use CB now, or US citizens/legal residents who replace the illegal alien truckers will start using CBs?
