Does anyone use ProVoice or DMR in the Chattanooga area? Is it worth purchasing?

DMR and NXDN are handy if you want to monitor electrical utilities' operations during power outages. SETHRA buses are a good listen if you want to stay on top of traffic conditions, but you'll need DMR. Don't bother to take a scanner on a Mississippi Gulf Coast vacation (Biloxi) unless you have ProVoice. Casinos are a big user of DMR, but some, such as Murphy, NC, are encrypted.

Just curious if it is worth purchasing.

Murray County, GA and the City of Chatsworth, GA are on DMR and can be picked up locally in Bradley, Hamilton, and Polk Counties in SE Tenn. I assume that their repeater locations are on Fort Mountain, which makes it easy to monitor due to its HAAT. I purchased the DMR upgrade for my 436 for areas in Tenn. that I visit which are almost exclusively DMR public safety systems. The upgrade for the 436 seems to work well and I haven't had any problems with it. Whether or not it is worthwhile for you to monitor/purchase is entirely up to you.

Good luck with it!
