Three police officers were shot early Thursday -- one fatally -- and authorities believe the suspect is a former Los Angeles police officer who wrote an online manifesto threatening to harm police officials and their families.

The suspect was already wanted for allegedly killing the daughter of a former LAPD captain as well as the woman’s fiance in Irvine over the weekend.

The three new shootings occurred in Riverside County. One LAPD officer was grazed in the Corona area, law enforcement sources said. Then sometime later, two Riverside Police Department officers were shot in Riverside. One of those officers died, sources said.

In Torrance, a blue truck was shot up mistakenly by officers early Thursday morning. It was believed to be a newspaper delivery vehicle, but unconfirmed. Photo by Brad Graverson 2-7-12

That is a TON of shots fired at a vehicle. Why shoot if there was no threat? these officers need to be charged

Sorry to double post...

Just read the manifesto and the following may be important if not LIFE saving for members of THIS forum and community:

"KMA-367 license plate frames are great target indicators and make target selection even easier."

Read more: Christopher Dorner’s Manifesto (Disturbing Content and Language) | KTLA 5

As many know KMA-367 was the station ID for LA Co Sherriff. Many NON-Law enforcement could possibly also have these plate frames.

Minor correction, KMA367 was (and still is) one of LAPD's callsigns. LA County Sheriff used to have KMA628 as their primary callsign, and it too is still seen occasionally on license plate frames but it expired years ago.

One of the articles mentions one of the vehicles they shot at was actually a newspaper carrier doing the route.

Due diligence is one thing. Shoot first is another. Tension or not, there's no excuse for that.

it was two ASIAN WOMEN.... so easily confused with a "burly black man"

Attempted Homicide. If (or when if this continues) a black gets killed from this riots are going to start

It looks like they did the PIT maneuver before shooting up in that Honda Ridgeline in Redondo Beach...there is a wheel missing!

He is currently being hunted in San Diego. He apparently stayed at a hotel near the harbor last night, and was spotted near one of the military bases close by. His badge was found after he attempted to boat-jack an 81 year old man, but the boat did not start. (If he was fired in 2008, why did he still have a badge??)

If anyone gets killed black/white/asian or whatever for no reason because of this, the whole community should be pissed. Color should have nothing to do with it.

Possible suspect vehicle was located an hour ago by the Border Patrol not far from the border, and had been torched. Trying to determine whether it was his.

Two different situations. The burned out truck was at Big Bear, but the BP did stop a vehicle resembling the suspects. Today, Big Bear was having a special day for LE who were in uniform. They closed early after the truck was found.
