In the early morning hours of May 6th, Downingtown Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Boot Road for an automatic fire alarm. Assistant 46 arrived on scene to find a two story building with a smoke odor and visible smoke from the area of the roof and upgraded the assignment to a possible building fire. As crews proceeded into the building they located a fully involved industrial dryer in the middle of the building and made an attack on the fire. Extensive ventilation of the building was needed due to heavy smoke conditions in the structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
