It's actually one of the worst kept secrets around here, and is so blatantly obvious that I'm genuinely amazed that there are still members who haven't figured it out.

I have fast lane. When i open it, it tells me there is a update. It does download the update to a zip file. I can open the zip file but when i double click to install it i get a error. Same with the text doc in the folder. Any suggestions? I can not get it do update. I paid for the year of service which is still valid till july 2025

you have to use something like winzip the file is password protected and will be the same password you used when you first got fastlane

Okay, so now that this was also removed without any mention of how to get around it, do you know how to get that logging back or have any workarounds?

It was pretty important to log in to the event file, especially with DMR/NXDN systems that have a lot of information.

I have voice for this, but no record of DCC, Frequency, System Type, or mode. This is what shows up in my log file:

Why do I feel like this program has been going downhill recently?

AFAIK, DSDPlus creates event files by default. The filename depends on the Control mode selected.

BTW, I have not managed to guess who the developer is, either. Nor do I plan to expend any effort in that direction. If you're here, then I will say thank you for a marvelous radio tool.

Acquired will show what the user decoded vs what other users decoded and is being shared if they have that rid present in their files.

If a user is running latest DSDPlus without an internet connection, there is nothing sent to the alias server and nothing in the event file mentioning server.

It does, but he is not speaking about filenames in that post. He is speaking of -E logging option.

NAC and Frequency info are back in the Event file with version 2.520 released today.

now back to fighting anydesk/parsec/windowsremote/etc and silly windows sound device ordering.

[audio on/off while running no change. disconnect after enabling sound then reconnecting = sound output. disable sound then disconnect and reconnect = no sound output.] really interesting, windows sure is silly some times. I let my system just run and run usually so this isnt an issue.

as an edit: I am working on adding whisperai to transcribe the audio to easily keyword searchable bits so I can look for my address for fire or breakins or traffic on my way to work. simple oddities. I wondered if it was better to pipe it into a stronger rig but cpu on whisperbasic seems ok

The text file I got with the update is current. My only gripe is they prepend the update so you get everything.
All that is needed is the update. Prudent people save the text file with their backup.

A new Fastlane subscriber would need more than just the update. However, I agree that wading through a lot of obsolete info can be a problem.
