We lost some of the t and e flags. my personal notes are outdated it seems

Removed -t -T and -E command line parameters.
so if my understanding is correct to tidy everything up in the new year:
Pretty sure that all notes related to what was removed from here and there, what was added in the menu, etc are in DSDPlus.txt and Notes.txt as well as FMP24.txt, FMPA.txt and FMPP.txt. All the text files are your friend.

You can message dsdplusfastlane@gmail.com if you feel they have omitted something :)
It looks like the 3 FMPx text files haven't been updated since at least 2021, and all the FMPx executable files haven't been updated since 2.448.

In the notes.txt file, it does say this in line 214 under the 2.516 changelog.
Removed -t -T and -E command line parameters.

Unfortunately if you used the Event log in the past to review activity during unattended scanning you now have no record of frequency and code/tone because the -E option was removed and not added to the menu. If there was voice, you can get the Mode and DCC/NAC/RAN from there but that is all.

Ive also noticed that the command line parameters for Per call voice recording and alias tagging in the recording files have changed, and it no longer works.

I have -PBmp3 in my .bat file to enable MP3 per-call recording and Alias per-call file names on startup, but I find myself having to enable it manualy.

I have emailed DSD+ using the email address that @mtindor provided above multiple times before and almost never got a reply. And yes, I emailed him about this today and am awaiting a response.

I guess I need more coffee - so the new procedure is to use the menus instead of the command line and you've had to resort to... using the new procedure?

DSD+ 2.441

Some command line options and keyboard commands have been removed.
DSDPlus -h lists all command line options and keyboard commands.

Looks like those command line options were removed quite a while back, but it's an issue now, because...?

Yes. The -PBmp3 command is not working anymore. It was working about two or three releases ago, but it suddenly stopped recently. I have multiple .bat files, and they all stopped working around the same time.

What version was it removed? DSD+ 2.441? It was working for me in at least 2.465. It's an issue now because im bringing it up because it stoped working.

Is there a way to to look for or sort new radio or talker aliases?

For example when I went to bed I had 2102 talker aliases and when I woke up I now have 2112 Is there an easy way to see just the 10 new ones it found?

Thanks in advance

Very interested to try the roaming/neighbour feature out. I was recently on a road trip and had to manually change sites with some trial and error thanks to a great map that someone down here has made. If I can get it working successfully, I’ll setup an updated mobile rig for the car.

BEE00.164 covers the entire state of Victoria, Australia, split across a UHF based and VHF based system that I believe used to be separate. The alias server has over 10,000 records, and I so far have around 7,000. A couple of those added with the latest server feature. It’s a great system for a user like us, but to monitor well needs at least 2 instances running, as most TGs are split to either the UHF or VHF side, with a few being patched across. Then the main other split is that fire districts are mapped so their TGs are carried by certain sites. I’m fortunate that I can hit the main city site, that covers the entire metropolitan area, however I have some geography that means I can’t quite reach out to sites to catch the regional areas. BUT, get in the car and within a minute, the trusty Uniden scanner is reaching those more far flung sites.

So too long a story short, a mobile rig plus roaming, could produce great results

Other than looking through the event log (you can use FIND and search for ALIAS SERVER UPDATED if you are on the internet or just TALKER ALIAS if you are not on the internet)

But, other than that no, there is no easy way within the program.

I still have my copy of 2.441:

I'd say search for "alias server". It catches cases where an OTA alias was decoded and sent to the server, as well as when the server supplies an alias for a new radio ID:

Alias server updated with talker alias "OW-2072" for 148DE.00A-1672072
Alias server updated with talker alias "P25A" for 148DE.00A-1682124
Alias server returned talker alias "4172" for 148DE.00A-1693123
Alias server returned talker alias "650" for 148DE.00A-1693086
Alias server updated with talker alias "OW-2115" for 148DE.00A-1672115
Alias server updated with talker alias "OW-2115" for 148DE.00A-1672115
Alias server updated with talker alias "MLE1105" for 148DE.00A-1672144
Alias server updated with talker alias "OSH_CON1" for 148DE.00A-1680101
Alias server updated with talker alias "3351" for 148DE.00A-1692810
Alias server updated with talker alias "OSH_CON3" for 148DE.00A-1680103
Alias server returned talker alias "NT 0228 Romunn" for BEE00.4F1-1008350
Alias server updated with talker alias "33-433" for 148DE.00A-1697011
Alias server returned talker alias "09 Keleher" for BEE00.4F1-3001365
Alias server returned talker alias "05 M-7 M-1" for BEE00.4F1-1000315
Alias server returned talker alias "25 Base" for BEE00.4F1-1000141
Alias server returned talker alias "92 0648 M" for BEE00.4F1-1005270

Great suggestion, just want to add that is only if the computer is connected to the internet. Otherwise, you won't see server returned.

Weird. It worked for me a few months ago, then just stopped. Whatever.

So, to control the per audio recording and alias tags, I need to use the menu and can't use a cmd line parameter in my bat file?

Pretty sure that all notes related to what was removed from here and there, what was added in the menu, etc are in DSDPlus.txt and Notes.txt as well as FMP24.txt, FMPA.txt and FMPP.txt. All the text files are your friend.

You can message dsdplusfastlane@gmail.com if you feel they have omitted something :)

The .txt files have always been confusing. DSDPlus.txt is only for the free version 1.101, so ignore that one if you're a paid Fast Lane member. There's no file called FMP24.txt. Changes.txt was a one-time file that tells you nothing more than back when 1.074 was updated to 1.101, so ignore that one too.

FMP.txt, FMPA.txt, Trunking.txt, all come with the free version 1.101 and are all mostly outdated.

For paid Fast Lane members, the main one you really need to care about is Notes.txt. That is the one that actually gets updated, however it is a chronological listing which includes a confusing mixture of current and old, outdated information. Everyone on here always says, oh, RTFM, but it's not that simple.

Notes.txt is lengthy and difficult to read because of its chronological nature rather than being summarized. As an example, scroll to the end of Notes.txt and search for "TIII" going upward/previous. You'll have to read through a saga of old updates and changes to see how it actually works now, rather than them just telling you once only how it works right now.

What is really truly needed is a manual / user guide that has only current information like the one in my signature I did a few versions ago. It's a lot of work and I just haven't had time to update it.

Use Notepad++ and when searching, hit Find All In Current Document. Lista all found during search in bottom pane. Then look at timestamps from after you went to bed.

Yes, you use the menu. Whatever settings you make will stick until you change them.

If you sometimes want to have per-call audio recordings enabled, and disabled some other times, you can use the -F# command line parameter to control that.

.bin file notes:

Separate copies of parameters are stored for:

DSD+

CC DSD+ (-rc)

VC DSD+ (-rv)

Each unique instance (-F<num>) of DSD+, CC DSD+ and VC DSD+

Should work for any parameter that can be set via the menus.

I agree with this 1000%. DSD+ text files are tough to read; even if you can understand them, they are grossly outdated. Everyone says everything is in one of the associated text files. Yet, they are never updated, and even if they are, the text says something vague along the lines of "removed _____ command" or " ____ Parameter no longer used," and there's no explanation of anything else.

When one emails the DSD+ Fast Lane Email, there is no response, leaving the user clueless.
Yes, I agree that a manual is needed, just like every other program out there. Even the most basic could help. The program was released with no information whatsoever, leaving the users to completely fend for themselves. That's like having someone blind read a book that is not in Braille.

In fact, I would still be stuck trying to get the program to work if I didn't get some help with it personally. For a tremendous feature-rich program, the support absolutely sucks.
