To answer my own question, I had the "Monitoring Threshold" set incorrectly. It took me a while to find that in the menu system, but I did. I'm stoll not sure about the speaker issue.

I would have responded, but i don't play with the settings you were referencing and as such figured I'd give incorrect information. I already do that when I think I know what I'm talking about :)

As for the speaker issue, that truly baffles me. I don't think there is any way for DSDPlus to be specifically told to send this traffic to left speaker and that traffic to right speaker. Must be something else going on.

I don't knowing play with that setting either, but must have done something to it. That's why it took me so long to find the issue. I'm at my most dangerous when I think I know what I'm doing.

As for the speakers, that's baffling as well. I unplugged the Dell speakers and plugged the no name set back in. Now, the audio works as I expect it to. The problem with the no name speakers is that they have an annoying click that comes on randomly. I'm going to have to search for another inexpensive set of computer speakers and try them.

In any case, it's all working as it should now. I'll just have to remember not to play with the settings unless I am sure that I know how to reverse the changes.

On DMR Con+ & Cap+ systems with 2 slots per frequency the audio has been Odd/Left and Even/Right with DSD+ for a long time.

Had no idea. I really pay no attention. I see the "-o" switch specs in DSDPlus

-o<spec> Output audio device (1-255; 0=none) and channel (M/L/R) [-o1]
in/out channels are optional; default=in:mono, out:mode based

So I'm guessing the default output of "mode based" means that if it's dual-timeslot, then you get first timeslot audio on left speaker and second timeslot audio on right speaker.

But that also means that one can set it specifically to play both timeslots out in both speakers just like it would do for other [single timeslot] modes.

I'm guessing that if you ran DSDPlus with -o#M (where # is your output audio device number) you would be sending all decoded audio to both speakers.

Thanks for the education :)

Which still doesn't explain why the speaker sets operate differently. I will try stting the M software switch and see how that works.

Glad I could shed a bit of light. My "-o" setting is indeed -o1 as Windows assigned the "stereo speakers" option to output 1. Otherwise I haven't specifically set or changed anything from the "out of the box" DSD+ audio settings insofar as the outbound audio channels are concerned.

Well, that worked! Thanks again.

Every time I think I've figure out all of the tricks to DSD+, I find out I'm wrong again.

Those files would need to be there. Maybe it depends on the timing of when you signed up for Fast Lane versus what Fast Lane will automatically create for you (or not?). I think some of those files were gradually realased and pushed out with previous updates. You might just have to spend the time and manually create them.

I'll reiterate this. If you have a registered Windows account for windows 10 use you one drive cloud. you get 5 gigs for free. Backup all you DSD Plus Fastlane files to it and if all fails you can pull what you need from one drive. Every program I paid for is where I keep those files.

If you mean when can you receive the Fastlane version the answer is as soon as you subscribe to it and pay for it. Check the readme file in the 1.01 free version for details.
